Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes

My grandmother's signature dish.
Kitchenware • big cooking pot • big bowl • serving dish • pan • tablespoon • teaspoon
Ingredients (for 2 persons) • 200 g of spelt flour (or regular flour) • 1 egg • 1/2 teaspoon of salt • water • 200 g of potatoes • 125 g of diced bacon (or onion + oil) • 200 g of liquid cream • optional: salt, pepper

1. In a big bowl, mix the spelt flour, egg and salt and gradually add water until you have a thick dough (a little less thick than a pizza dough). Put it in the fridge.

2. Peel the potatoes and cut into wedges.

3. Boil the potato wedges in a large pot with plenty of water for 10 minutes.

4. After 10 minutes, take the bowl out of the fridge and add the dough spoonful by spoonful into the boiling water in which the potatoes are still cooking (1 spoon = 1 dumpling).

5. The dumplings are cooked when they float on the surface of the water and can then be removed together with the potatoes and placed in a serving dish.

6. Fry the diced bacon (or the onions with oil) in a pan, then turn off the heat and pour cream over the bacon (or onions). Season to taste with salt and pepper, if necessary.

7. Pour the bacon (or onions) in cream sauce over the dumplings and potatoes.

8. Serve!
